Autism Awareness Week: Room 8's Friday afternoon celebrations.

Another fabulous afternoon this week for Autism Awareness Week!
So many parents, friends and family joined us in celebrating Autism.

We all wore something blue.

Our Autism Awareness Tree and Ribbon looked wonderful in the hall.

Mrs Martin and her Country Dancers and Mrs Frames' 'Thriller' showcase dancers entertained us.

Thank you to Charlie for sharing with us how happy he is to have autism and how he celebrates how it makes him who he is!

We enjoyed the delicious biscuits made by the children and Parent Council.

Then it was time for us to release our blue balloons! We bravely stood outside in the wind and rain!
What an amazing sight seeing them rising high up into the sky!

Room 1 Made Pizza!

We made some delicious pizza! We put tomato puree and cheese on our pizza base and then put it all in the oven to cook!

It was delicious! :)

Room 5 are baking

Room 5 have been making chocolate crispy cakes.

We had to break the chocolate and melt it in the microwave.
Next we had to add rice krispies or cornflakes and mixed it.
Then we put the mixture into cases with mini eggs in the middle.

Room 8 Autism Awareness jigsaw pieces

We enjoyed making the jigsaw pieces for the tree. We had to take our time and cut them out slowly to stay on the lines.

Mr Marrinan made the outline of the tree and Room 7 made the yellow and orange pieces. Room 8 cut out the other colours. The tree is ready for the other classes to add their jigsaw pieces.

We had a great idea to put a ribbon onto each pink jigsaw piece Room 8 had made!

Room 8 dancing at the Co-Op for Autism Awareness Week

We had a great time at the Co-Op in Castlemilk shopping Centre for Autism Awareness Week! The staff and customers were so generous and kind to us. Keira's Aunty even bought us a bottle of water because we never stopped dancing for 45 minutes! Thank you to everyone who clapped and cheered and kindly donated money towards our school!
