Room 9 have been busy!

It has been a very hectic period for the children of Room 9 with many exciting and varied things to do as the school year reaches its last couple of weeks.

We attended the award Ceremony of the Determined To Make Movies initiative and it was almost like the Oscars. We weren't lucky this year but watching the winning movies gave us many ideas which will serve us well in future. The group met Actor Atta Yaqub who starred in Ken Loache's excellent film 'Ae Fond Kiss.'

We also attended the annual Sports event at Scotstoun Sports Centre along with 180 other children and adults. It was busy, noisy and good fun.

We always enjoy our positive play outings and our trip to Calderglen Country Park in East Kilbride was no exception. The sun shone as the class had a great time playing together on the excellent equipment there.

We took part in health week activities too and decided to host a healthy Café and invite all the classes in the school to come along. We had healthy cereals, fruit, toast and milk to drink. The children enjoyed it and many tried certain fruits for the first time.

We allocated jobs to each child and rotated around with each new class. We had Waiters taking orders and delivering food, Cooks preparing it and people keeping the whole area clean and tidy.

So now the boys or Room 9 move into their final two weeks as Primary children before the adventure of High School begins. I'm sure they'll want to use this blog to tell you what they learned and enjoyed during their years in Kirkriggs.
