Room 8 What we have enjoyed the most this term ...

What a great term we had in Room 8! So much to do, see and learn!

We went to M&D’s and we had lots of fun! Thank you Variety Scotland for our day out. Leon: "I was very scared when I went on the Big Wheel!"
Mazin: "I went fast on the Caterpillar ride."

We helped each other work out Tens and Units using Base Ten blocks.
"This is too easy for me, Mrs G! I want to do HTU, please", said James W.

We went bag packing in the new B&M in Castlemilk. Every class went shopping in B&M to choose some toys for the school. James M and Aaryn said, "It was exciting looking at the toys. Can we keep them, please?"

We are reading James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl in class this term. James goes on an adventure and meets some interesting insects inside the peach. Inspired by a visit from Zoolab, we made some fabulous insects using playdoh. Aaryn and Darrel both made bees.
Aaryn: " I chose the bee because of the buzzing noise it makes. They will only sting you if you annoy them."
Darrel:’ I chose the bee because I liked the stripes on its body and it was tiny."

The trees outside in the playground are looking beautiful with their golden colours so we decided to go out for a walk in the woods with Mrs Gilgannon to look for other signs of Autumn. Look what we found:

Emily:" I found different grasses, heard a bird singing in the trees, raspberries and mushrooms. We were getting bitten by the midgies!"
Back in class, we made Autumn faces.

Our parents came in for 'Meet the Teacher' which was filled with games and laughter.

Zoolab came to visit the school. Oh dear, so many insects! And we got to hold or touch them too!

James M says, “I love going to Calder Glen Park for Positive Play! Look how high I can climb!”

We made all kinds of pictures with the things we collected with Mr Fletcher in Art.

Some of us went to Residential at Blairvadach Outdoor Centre at the beginning of term. We had so much fun!
“ I was so brave jumping into the Pirate’s Tub!”, said James W.
“It was scary climbing the pole and tree outside,” said Leon.
“The best was sitting on the beach around the campfire telling ghost stories!” said Mrs Gilgannon.

Happy Holidays everyone!
