This afternoon for World Book Day we, the Wiggly Worms group, sat in the woods in Linn Park and read all about the adventures of the Wiggly Worms family and their friends: William Worm, Wilma Worm, Mrs Wendy Worm and Grandpa Wilby Worm.
We then became Countryside Investigators and went on a hunt to see if we could find the Wiggly Worm family. We only found William Worm who wriggled himself free and disappered in the mud! Maybe it was too cold and they were deep down snug in their beds!

Room 8 Forest School Day 2 in Linn Park
Room 8 had a wonderful time this morning in Linn Park with John and Jackie making a den, finding all kinds of fungi and creating mud characters on a tree. We even found pine cones that the squirrels had eaten. We enjoyed a hot orange and pineapple drink and some tasty biscuits that Mrs Gilgannon brought along. We are looking forward to next week whatever the weather! Just a wee reminder to the childen in Room 8 to bring the right outdoor clothes again next week!

Today Room 1 have been doing independent work. We have been working hard doing activities at our desks all by ourselves!
We are so proud of our hard work!
Jack is making a chain with lots of different colours.
Tiano is doing a great job at threading.
Dejna has finished her threading and is enjoying showing off her good work!
Pancake Day or Fat Tuesday
Room 5 have been busy learning about Pancake Day or Fat Tuesday. Pancake Day is the day before Lent.
We learned that in other countries like Brazil they don't eat pancakes but they celebrate Mardis Gras of Fat Tuesday. They wear costumes and masks.
Our Mardis Gras masks!

Partnership at Kirkriggs
The children and staff of Kirkriggs School would like to send huge thanks to two very kind businesses who have helped us greatly this session.
Our first big THANK YOU goes to The Croft Bar who very kindly donated £200 to our school. This was a massive gesture and we are very grateful for your support. Here is a picture of Aiyla handing over our thank you card to Jacqueline from The Croft.
Our next big THANK YOU goes to Avant homes for helping us to display our Eco Flag in our school grounds. Avant not only agreed to supply us with a flag pole but they installed it too! But before we could even get a card out to the ladies and gents there, they have very kindly agreed to supply us with another flag pole and install that too, at the other side of our gate!

Room 5 are mixing things up!
Room 5 have had a busy week. We have been making new drinks just like George made a new medicine for his Grandma.
We mixed up sprite, coke, limeade, orangeade and berryade.
Room 1 - Learning is Fun
This week Room 1 did some painting with brushes and our hands.
It was very messy so we played with the water tray to clean our hands. We had lots of fun with the bubbles and we made the toys spin and splash in the water.
